Last month, Drs. Stacy Beal, M.D., Kenneth H. Rand, M.D. and Miss Elizabeth Tremblay, MPH, CPH, CIC, were informed that their research poster, titled, Evaluation of a PCR-based gastrointestinal panel at UF Health Shands Hospital, was awarded the distinction of being one of three Top Posters (of 68 total posters) for the upcoming 2017 Patient Safety and Quality Week Research Day Poster Session, scheduled for Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 10 a.m. to noon in the UF Health Science Center Founder’s Gallery.
Their abstract won second place out of 101 submitted abstracts—only 68 of those were accepted—that underwent a rigorous review process by the Patient Safety and Quality Week Research Day and the Executive Leadership Committees, and it ranked as one of the best based on six submission criteria.
The poster will be showcased during the Poster Session and in Patient Safety and Quality Week Research Day promotional materials. Drs. Beal, Rand and Miss Tremblay will also receive a special invitation to the Patient Safety and Quality Week Awards Dinner, details of which are not yet announced.
