Research Profile

Dr Aly’s research interests are broadly directed towards enhancing diagnostic accuracy and validation of ancillary (immunohistochemical) studies. Currently, she is working on quantification of cells in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid specimens, factors influencing accurate identification of cervical preneoplastic and reactive lesions on biopsies, the effect of natural compounds on lung carcinogenesis and the histomorphological changes in placentas of Type 1 diabetic subjects. She is also interested in HPV negative oral squamous cell carcinoma.

Areas of Interest
  • Cervical Cancer
  • Lung cancer
  • Outcome optimization in head and neck surgery
  • Pancreatic Cancer Biology
  • Salivary gland neoplasms
  • urothelial carcinoma
